Movement in Motion The HistoryMakers’ fourth annual Illinois Humanities Council sponsored Black History Month program was held at the Harris Bank Auditorium in Chicago, Illinois on February 24, 2005. Harris Bank served as the title sponsor providing facilities and video production services.
Movement in Motion featured Joan Gray of Muntu Dance Theater, Najwa I of the Najwa Dance Corps, Muriel Foster of the Dyerettes and Joseph Hall of the Joel Hall Dance Center. Before a capacity crowd that included Doris Odem and a group of seniors from the University of Illinois Extension, the panelists also spoke about their early dance influences and the impact of black dance, both in Chicago and beyond. CBS News journalist Renee Ferguson served as host/moderator for the event.
