The HistoryMakers and Informedia Digital Video Library at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science have collaborated to create a searchable digital video library of interviews from The HistoryMakers' African American video oral history archive.  400 complete interviews (about 1100 hours of video) from The HistoryMakers' collection were digitized, encoded, transcribed, edited into short video clips and indexed to be fully searchable by words spoken, or by topics, locations, and time periods discussed.  The database is now in beta testing at The HistoryMakers headquarters, University at Buffalo - SUNY at the New York Public Library's Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.
