Anne Spencer First Published

19th Amendment Ratified
The 19th Amendment to the Constitution is ratified. The amdenment states that "no person is to be denied the right to vote in the United States or any state based upon sex." With the ratification, two states, Tennessee and Kentucky, allow for African American women to vote, though this does not last long.
